Doug Watson

Doug Watson BSc(Agr) has been a volunteer at DOFN since 2010 and joined the board of directors in 2026, bringing a wealth of management and volunteer experience.

As a long-time general manager of a diverse, multi-locational co-operative and later as owner/manager of a local business, he has worked extensively with boards of directors, employees, co-operative members and customers to create and achieve goals that have enabled the business ventures to thrive, employ and train local youth, and identify and service the communities’ needs.

Now retired, Doug enjoys his work as a school crossing guard and competed in agility trials under the direction of his Australian Shephard partner, Stella.

Doug has served on the boards of the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and currently his local church and pastoral charge, holding numerous positions. As a Habitat for Humanity team member, he worked in Mississippi rebuilding after hurricane Katrina. He has also travelled on multiple missions to rural Guatemala, assisting the indigenous Mayan people with local education, community development and self-sustaining programs.
