Deborah Mammah joined Durham Outlook in March 2026 as Fund Development Coordinator – a newly-created role – where she plans and executes fundraising activities that provide vital resources for our day-to-day operations.

One key initiative Deborah spearheaded and continues to development is Play It Forward Durham – a  summer community engagement program that connects local youth sports teams with opportunities to support food security in our community, including having teams volunteer in the Durham Outlook kitchen and organize food drives to keep our shelves stocked.

Prior to Durham Outlook, Deborah spent six years raising funds for some of the most impactful organizations in the world, including UNICEF, Canadian Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and Action Against Hunger. That experience, especially working on global food insecurity, led her to Durham Outlook, where she now sees the direct impact her work makes within her local community. 

Deborah has always believed that it’s our responsibility as humans to show up for one another, and she’s grateful for the opportunity to work in spaces where that’s at the core of everything she does.
